Womens Transitional Facility

This Women’s Transitional Facility aims to keep a positive atmosphere for the inmates and surrounding community members by using a more hospitable, town-like architectural and urban design typology. It mimics the surrounding urban landscape by extending existing elements into itself to create 2 contrasting main districts, separated by a central drainage canal which offsets the sites natural flooding. The residential district is further separated into a patchwork of districts based on potential hobbies and interests
